I got this cotton tie for my tall 5yo son, and it's a great addition to his tie collection! We have a variety of zip up, velcro, and snap closure ties, and the snap closure ties are nice because they don't fall down like the zip up ties do. The blue stripes on the Newport style look exactly like the picture, and the 5-8 year old length is perfect on my son who is 47.5" tall. It'll probably fit him for another year, maybe two, but for your average height child I think the sizing is spot on with their recommended ages.A quick note: this neck on this tie, even when tightened as far as the buckle would allow, was still too loose for my son's neck. I had to tie a small knot on the part that goes around his neck to "shorten" it, and that made it perfect. You can't see the knot under the collar, so I'm not deducting a star for this, just something to note.
