I live in SW Florida where the summers are scorchers and the winters are merely hot. During season--November through March--there are events at the club, the symphony, the cultural society, the church. Not always, but sometimes, a tie is appropriate. The thing I like about this new tie is that it says "Florida" but it goes with both a blue blazer or a tan suit.
I've gotten two cotton skinny neckties now from this brand, and it seems they have consistent quality. The designs have also been very pleasant, but let's talk about that. This will come back round to the assortment of ties here. There aren't many clothing items that work for all men. For instance, while there are trends in whether a necktie should look wider or skinnier relative to the person's frame, the skinniest neckties are going to look too tiny on a wide frame. It's similar with color, pattern, and texture, if you want to look great. You have to pick the color palette that fits the rest of your outfit (and some would say skin tone, but that's advanced). You have to pick a pattern that fits your personality, outfit, and setting, which includes the visual weight of the design elements being internally proportional and externally proportional to your outfit and body size. As common examples, whether the flowers or stripes are too small or too big.You have to pick a texture that fits the formality. Cotton and linen ties are on the casual side, whereas silk (or silky/shiny) ties are usually more formal, but that can vary with the weave.A brand can't make all these decisions for you. But they can make it easier by providing quality, well-designed garments that tend to work better than some crap-shoot assortments I've seen.So that's what I see on offer here. You can spend less and get a pretty good looking tie, but you might have to spend more time looking and thinking about the options. Here, I can't say every tie will work for you. But if you pick one that suits you and your needs, you have a higher chance than average of getting a winner.(No, I'm not trying to sell these. As someone who's spent too many hours looking at tie listings, I want to help you understand why these are going for around $20—take it or leave it! I tend to fall on the side of having more time to search than money to spend, but I appreciate the gamut.)
